Specification

Effectively neutralizes rust and turns it into a stable protective layer. Improves anti-corrosion protection of coatings. Does not corrode rust-affected surfaces. An indispensable tool for motorists. Has high penetrating ability.

Sphere of application

Highly effective product designed for treating rusted metal surfaces before subsequent painting. Due to the presence of active zinc ions in the composition, it allows to provide additional surface protection and extend its service life. When used, a film of iron phosphates is formed, which has strong adhesion to the metal surface and protects the metal from corrosion. For exterior and interior work.

Content

Orthophosphoric acid, zinc salts, functional additives, water.

Application instruction

1. Preliminary preparation

Remove any remnants of the old paint coating, loose and flaking rust, mill scale, dust, dirt and other contaminants from the metal surface. Clean the surface mechanically using a wire brush, scraper or abrasive material.

After cleaning, thoroughly degrease the surface using TM Maxima Dearomatized Solvent or TM Maxima Universal Thinner. Before applying the rust converter, ensure that the surface is clean and dry and that any residual solvent has completely evaporated.

2. Using

Stir the rust converter thoroughly before use. Apply the material in an even coat to the prepared, corrosion-affected metal surface using a brush, roller or sprayer. During application, ensure complete wetting of all corroded areas, including recesses, joints, edges and other hard-to-reach areas. Avoid missed areas, runs and excessive material build-up on individual sections of the surface.

The drying time of the rust converter at a temperature of (23 ± 2) °C and a relative humidity of (50 ± 5)% is at least 2 hours. During this period, the components of the product react with the corrosion products and form a protective layer on the surface. Lower temperatures, higher relative humidity or an increased application rate may extend the drying time.

Once the reaction is complete, rinse the treated surface thoroughly with clean water to remove residual reaction products and any unreacted components of the rust converter. After rinsing, allow the surface to dry for at least 1 hour at a temperature of +20 °C. No water or moisture should remain in joints, recesses or other hard-to-reach areas.

If necessary, particularly where residual corrosion spots remain, repeat the treatment in accordance with the specified application procedure. Protective coating materials may only be applied after the treated surface has been rinsed and allowed to dry completely.

The application rate of the rust converter for a single treatment is 100–120 g/m². Actual consumption may vary depending on the extent of corrosion, the surface profile, the application method and the uniformity of material distribution.
