Specification

It is weather resistant. It has a perfect adhesion. It creates very hard coating, which resists strikes and mechanical loading. It provides reliable protection to industrial floors with intensive exploitation loading. It creates a coating, which resists the effect of detergents, water, salts and oily products. Does not withstand the impact of gasoline and diesel fuel. It dries quickly.

Sphere of application

It is intended for mineral (concrete, cement, fiber cement, brick) and reinforced concrete surfaces, which are meant to be under intensive mechanical loading indoors and outdoors. It can be applied as an initial and renovating coating of concrete floors, especially for industrial purposes (workshops, stores, trade spaces, garages, etc.), parking, reinforced concrete industrial constructions. It is also intended for road marking.

Content

Acrylic resin, pigments, extenders, thinner, additives.

Application instruction

The condition for receiving a desired result is following directions for using the paint product and preparing the surface.

1. Preliminary preparation

The surface must be dry, thoroughly cleaned until the hard base surface is free from dust, dirt, mould, corrosion, scale, oily, grease, and other contaminations and peeling paint coatings. Use these methods of cleaning: mechanical (a scratcher or wire brush), thermal (a heat gun or infrared radiation), and chemical (paint-removal solutions). Avoid using a cleaning option that can damage the base surface.
The mineral surface must be hard, without fragile parts or edges. Construction mineral mortars or products for the floor must be completely dry and intended for coating with solvent-based products. The humidity on the base surface must be less than 5% for cement and cement-sand base surfaces before priming. Remove all contaminations thoroughly: remove all efflorescence mechanically; areas infected with mould or fungi must be removed: at first, clean the surface mechanically and then treat it with antiseptics for mineral surfaces TM Farbex. Uneven areas on the surface must be corrected with the appropriate products for floors. The surface must be polished and dusted off.
Metal elements at the surface must be made of galvanized or stainless steel. If you use iron elements, they must be protected against corrosion with special primers or other products prior.
Before you use subordinate products (construction mortars, adhesives, antiseptics, and others), we recommend checking their compatibility on a small area of the surface, following technical recommendations or specialists’ advice.
You must strictly follow technical recommendations (especially during the drying period and subsequent treatment) for further treatment of construction mortars or products. For example, cement screeds must not be treated for 7 days, fresh concrete – 3 months, etc.

2. Priming

The surfaces, previously coated with solvent-borne acrylic paints, need no advanced undercoating.

Use for undercoating the paint for concrete floors ProBeton TM "Farbex", diluted to 10-20% with universal thinner TM Maxima.

3. Application

Stir the product thoroughly to homogeneous condition before use. Filter the product if necessary and dilute it with thinner TM Maxima to working viscosity (abnormal diluting causes reducing of the product resistance to runs and slow hardening).

Providing optimal properties of the surface, you must apply 1-2 coats. The subsequent coat is applied after 1 hour.

If using the road marking, for example parking places, the acceptable wear resistance will be achieved after 3 or more coats.

When you apply a finishing coat, use the product of the same batch to avoid color deviations. In case you use the product of different batches, mix them.

Carry out works at the temperature of the air and the surface from +5 ºС to +35 ºС and relative air humidity under 80% (the temperature of the surface must be 3 degrees above the dew point). During application and drying you must provide an appropriate ventilation.

Remember! Mineral surfaces are porous materials, and the consumption of the product and the quantity of coats can be increased.

We recommend carrying out the application “from edge to edge (from corner to corner)” or within the limits of the decorative element without breaks. When you carry out an application on a large area and/or during a long period, we recommend stirring the paint from time to time. We do not recommend keeping the container with the paint open for a long period.

Do not apply the paint under direct sunlight, strong wind, frost and precipitation. After application, the coating shall not be affected by precipitation or subzero temperature during 24 hours.

The coating becomes fully hard and achieves its properties 7 days after application.

The paint for concrete floors can be applied by following methods:

Method of application

Quantity of diluent

Jet size

Pressure

Airless spraying

0 – 10 %

0.019" - 0.023"

15 MPa ( ≈ 150 bar)

Pneumatic spraying

The tools must be recommended for solvent-based products.

When you apply with a roller, we recommend using a cuvette for homogeneous wetting the tool. Attention! For smoother coating we recommend using a roller with a short nap.

When you apply with by a spraying method, follow the instruction for exploitation.

For a quality coating you must obtain painting skills, especially if use professional instrument.

Compatibility with other coatings

Depending on the exploitation conditions, it can be used with different primers and finishing coatings. The examples are stated further. Call the specialists of POLYSAN to receive more detailed recommendations.

Compatibility of products is recommended for testing on a small area of the surface.

4. Tool cleaning

Clean tools with a thinner and then with warm water with detergents if necessary.
