Primer GP-021 DekArt | POLYSAN

Primer GP-021 DekArt

It allows high level of adhesion with undercoated surface, that makes a good base for further coating and endures the lifetime of paint coating. It protects against corrosion.

Sphere of application

Primer GP-021 is intended for protective coating of metal and wooden surfaces under alkyd enamels. The primer can be used as a separate coating for temporal protection agaisnt corrosion within the period of interoperating storage.

Application instruction

Surface preparation

The surface shall be dry and thorougly cleaned of dust, dirt and grease.

Old loose coatings on the surface (paint or wood-protective product) shall be removed mechanically (a scraper, a wire brush), thermally (a hot air fan, infrared radiation) or chemically (paint removing solutions).

Metal surfaces shall be thorougly cleaned of corrosion with wire brush, sandpaper. You can use chemical solutions for corrosion removing before cleaning mechanically to achieve better results.

Holes, existing on the surface, cracks or uneven areas shall be corrected with Putty for wooden and mineral surface TM "Farbex". Plastered surface shall be sandpapered till the surface is smooth. The abrasive dust shall be removed.

Stir thoroughly the primer before use. The primer is ready to use. Delute with white spirit (Nefras C4-155/200), solvent, their solution or Thinner TM DekART if necessary. Apply with a brush, a roller or a spraying gun. Apply 2 layers of primer to achive maximal protective property. Each next layer shall be applied in 24 hours. Application shall be performed at the temperature of air and surface above +10 ºС. Avoid application when the weather is wet or windy.

Tool cleaning

Working tools shall be cleaned with a solvent or white spirit and after that if necessary with warm water and detergents.

Flow calculator

Consumption standard of 1 layer

When calculating the area to be painted, you need to subtract the area that will not be painted. (windows, doors, etc.)

Paint consumption may vary depending on dilution and uniformity of application of the paint.
