Application instruction

Surface preparation

The surface under application  shall be dry (maximal humidity 20%), thoroughly cleaned from dirt, grease, dust, blue stain, rot, old paint. It is recommended to clean the surface with dry brush. Mould and plants shall be removed mechanically (with a scraper or a wire brush). Then treat the surface with Antiseptic for wooden surfaces TM Farbex.

Remove resin mechanically at the places of knots.

To receive smooth surface without visible places of old coatings (paint or varnish), they shall be totally removed from the surface mechanically (by a scraper, a floor scrubber), thermally (by hot air dryer,  infra-red radiation) or chemically (paint removing products).

It is recommended to avoid methods of cleaning which can damage wood fibers (for example sandblast apparatus).

Defected surfaces (holes, cracks, etc.) shall be corrected with putty for parquet with a required color shade. After that polish corrected areas with sandpaper.

Sandpapering is performed in two steps. At first the surface is treated with hard-grained sandpaper and then polish with fine-grained one.

After the preparations remove abrasive dust from the surface. It is also recommended to clean the room from dust. (foot stalls, windows, radiators and other elements of interior).

Previously coated wooden surfaces need no undercoating.

Previously non-coated wooden surfaces shall be undercoated.

Make sure that the surface is clean and completely dry before undercoating.

New or cleaned of old coats wooden surfaces shall be undercoated with Wood protective primer ТМ Delfi for maximal protective effect and even color.

Edges of wooden surfaces shall be treated more thoroughly until they are completely soaked.

Make sure that the undercoated surface is dry enough before applying a finishing layer.

If necessary, dilute the varnish with white spirit, a solvent, their mixture or thinner TM "DekArt".

Apply varnish with 1-2 layers with intermediate polishing. The next layer shall be applied not before the drying period of 24 hours. The surface is ready for exploitation load (walkable) - in 72 hours. Complete hardening of the surface and obtaining its properties is in 4-6 days.

Works shall be performed at air and surface temperature from +10 ºС to +30 ºС and relative humidity less than 80%.

Tool cleaning

Tools are cleaned with solvent or white spirit and then if it’s necessary wash with warm water and detergents.

Consumption standard of 1 layer

When calculating the area to be painted, you need to subtract the area that will not be painted. (windows, doors, etc.)

Paint consumption may vary depending on dilution and uniformity of application of the paint.
