It is intended for decorative and protective coating of polished and non-polished timber or wooden products: building facades, elements of fencing, shelter ranges, terraces, balconies, panels, beams, doors, window frames, furniture, etc., porous lignous materials without priming (plywood, porous pressed boards, etc.) It is intended for interior and exterior applications. If the coated surface suffers from hard loading and abrasion (floor, benches, furniture, etc.), we recommend using polyurethane-acrylic varnish (yacht or parquet, depending on the exploitation).

The guarantee of the desired result is following the directions for applying the paint product and preparing the surface.
Timber intended for priming must be dry, smooth, and free of dust, grease, and resin stains.
We recommend priming new or old wooden surfaces, completely cleaned of old coatings (paint products). Old coatings must be completely removed mechanically (a scraper, a wire brush), thermally (a hot-air gun, infrared radiation), or chemically (paint-removal solutions). You should avoid such methods of cleaning that can damage the timber (for example, sand-blasting machine).
To make it attractive, emphasize the pattern of timber, improve application properties, prolong the exploitation period of finishing paint product, we recommend polishing the timber along the fibers. Abrasive dust shall be removed.
We recommend rounding off all sharp edges of the wooden surface.
Remove all resin deposits from the surface mechanically (with a spatula or a scratcher).
Then the areas that were contaminated shall be treated with water and the corresponding detergents.
If the timber is affected by bluestain, mould, or fungi, remove all defective areas: first mechanically and then treat the timber with antiseptic for wooden surfaces TM Farbex. Created uneven surfaces shall be corrected with Putty TM Farbex. All corrected surfaces shall be polished and dusted off.
Timber humidity must be less than 20% before priming.
Before using subordinate products (adhesives, antiseptics, plasters, detergents, etc.), we recommend testing their compatibility on a small area of the surface, following the directions or specialists' hints.
The impregnate deeply penetrates the timber, so there is no need to use a wood-protective primer!
Before you apply impregnate, make sure that the surface is dry enough from the previous treatment. Stir the product thoroughly before use. The impregnate is ready to use and needs no diluting. Filter the impregnate if necessary.
Apply the impregnate in 2-3 layers. A subsequent coat shall be applied within 4 hours. If the interval is violated, the application can become problematic as the impregnate provides high hydrophobic properties.
If you want a more saturated color, you can apply an additional layer of impregnate. Every subsequent layer makes the color more saturated. If you receive the desired color and the recommended quantity of layers is not reached, we recommend applying subsequent layers with colorless impregnate.
We recommend testing the chosen color on a small area of the surface before application.
We recommend using the product of one batch for every layer to avoid deviations in color. If it is not possible, mix the product of different batches in one container.
Carry out the works at the temperature of the air and the surface from + 10 °С to + 30 °С and relative air humidity less than 80%. During the period of impregnate applying and drying, an appropriate ventilation shall be provided. Do not apply the product under direct sunlight, strong wind, frost, and precipitation. After application, the surface shall not be affected by precipitation or subzero temperatures for 24 hours. The coating achieves complete protective properties after 14 days.
We recommend applying the impregnate with contact methods (a roller, a brush, a sponge), rubbing it into a wooden surface. We don’t recommend leaving an odd product on the wooden surface. If necessary, remove odd spots immediately with a roller, a brush, or a cloth. Don’t let the impregnate dry.
The tools must be recommended for water-based products.
When working with a roller, we recommend using a cuvette for homogeneous wetting of the tool.
For a quality coating, you have to obtain painting skills.
Apply the impregnate on wooden surfaces along the fibers of the timber!
The consumption of impregnate and the “penetrating” effect substantially depend on the species and age of wood. When you work with hard and exotic species of wood, you must test applying all coats of the protective coating on a small area, following all directions. In case of non-standard application (for example, materials used for roofing or flooring, exotic and hard species of wood, cork panels, timber panels, etc.), you should consult about it with specialists of POLYSAN.
When the surfaces coated with the impregnate are dry, you can saw, chop, etc. them. However, fresh new surfaces of the product are recommended to be treated with the impregnate.
ATTENTION! The impregnate protects against and prevents bio corrosion, but doesn’t fight against insects, fungi, and mould if the wood was infected before application.
After you apply the impregnate, we recommend using nails, screws, etc., made of galvanized or stainless steel. When you use iron elements for wooden constructions, they must be protected against corrosion with special primers or other products in advance.
A HINT: for better durability of the coating, we recommend applying polyurethane-acrylic parquet varnish TM Maxima.
Compatibility with other coatings
Depending on the conditions for exploitation, the impregnate can be used with different finishing coatings. The examples of compatibility are mentioned below. Call the specialists of POLYSAN for more detailed recommendations.
Previous coat – we recommend applying it on a clean wooden surface.
Subsequent coat - the impregnant is a water-repellent coating, so any subsequent water-based product can be problematic. We recommend previous polishing of the surface if you want to apply some other paint products. We also recommend testing to determine the compatibility.
We recommend testing the compatibility of the materials on a small area of the surface.
Clean tools with water after application thoroughly.
